If there is something I have learned in my time as a commander, it is that those you are looking out for must be trusted to be able to handle themselves when it counts. You will gain nothing by coddling them.

[Granted, they always made sure their youngest members were protected and shielded from the worst of things, but that was different.]

But being there for them is different from constantly watching them.
