[ Oh, that's a better answer than he expected.. since Shinpachi is well aware of the reputation of the Shinsengumi in his time, yes. It's hard to not notice people tugging their kids away as they patrol the streets in their haori or when he can hear people talking badly about them behind their backs.

He also knows there's at least some reason they have that reputation.. thanks, Serizawa. But Shinpachi's never given as much of a damn about it as some of the others. What matter is that the people you care about think better of you than that, then who cares what the faceless masses might think? ]
