[ Pyrrha would love to be Kiiko, let’s be real. But, right now, she’s only seventeen - taller than many adult men, yes, but still growing. If not physically, then in how well she wears her own skin. For now, there’s clear uncertainly. She plays at adulthood as much as anyone from her school (except maybe Yang); sometimes, Sousei intimidates even her.
She’s learned about how he responds to challenges, though. A little kidlike in himself. Really, it reminds her of Tenka - although, that part, she’d never say aloud. ]
[Yes, never do tell Sousei that he reminds you of Tenka, even if there are quite a few similarities at times.
Either way, he tilts his head slightly, considering that response, her pose, her words--her challenge. It's not a bad one, as far as bets and challenges are concerned, but perhaps it is because she is so uncertain that he finally agrees.]
Very well then.
[She wants to dance. He does not, but dancing one dance with her will not kill him and will not make him miserable.
And properly, he offers her a hand, because he learned to dance for the sake of political parties, and he certainly knows his proprieties.]
[ She can’t quite keep her smile from blossoming happily at his acceptance. It’s only a little awkward, standing a head taller than him, but it’s something Pyrrha has more or less adjusted to the disparity and Sousei has always carried himself with nothing less than utter surety. There’s no hesitation when she takes his hand, stepping out onto the dance floor.
This is a great, action packed tag with loads to respond to. :D ]
[Look, he's not thinking about how tall she is right now, he's not interested in that--
But either way, out onto the dance floor they go! And Sousei does indeed know how to dance, so he moves neatly to begin his proper steps as the music begins again, if a little stiffly.
And, almost thoughtfully--]
Do you often intimidate your peers?
[He thinks, slowly but surely, he is starting to get a read on this curious young woman.]
[ Pyrrha’s following gestures are only a little more fluid. He sets the standard and she follows. It’s a piercing question Sousei poses, and she finds herself taking a moment before answering. Despite her usual reticence, she finds she doesn’t want to give him a disingenuous response. ]
It’s a bit more complicated than that.
[ Yes, yes, yes - that’s what she would say if she were less stuck on fairness, on providing an even description of a very uneven playing ground. ]
When I was twelve, I was encouraged to enter the regional tournament in Mistral, where I’m from. Technically, I was allowed, but it was unprecedented. Combat students my age were usually told to watch and wait until they stood a chance. [ She had already begun to hit her growth spurt, half a head taller than all the other girls in her class, and when her Semblance came into its own, well. That had been that. Her professors had pushed and who wouldn’t acquiesce under that welcome bit of attention? Victory was a surprise, but not nearly as much as what had happened next. She stopped being gawky, polite, shy Pyrrha in the corner. She became something else, celebrated but not known. ] I won that year. And then, the next year, I entered again. I participated— I won every year until I graduated Sanctum.
[ It’s difficult to shrug when dancing, but there is an eased jerk to her shoulders that suggests something similar. ]
It elevated me, I suppose. People either wanted to challenge me and take me down... or they didn’t know how to speak to a “celebrity”.
[He can visualize that easily enough. He knows about their world a bit from Yang, and he knows that it's a combat-oriented world...at least, from where these ladies come from. But to be combat-ready from such a young age in such a world... naturally, she would be held in awe.
It's not so different from the reactions to the Yamainu, honestly. They had been 12, 13 when they had begun to take out criminals, testing their mettle--and there had been those awed, almost frightened whispers following them.
"Who are they?"
"The Yamainu."
It had never bothered Sousei, because Sousei hadn't needed any more than the Yamainu, but from the looks of things, Pyrrha hadn't even had that until recently, with Jaune.]
I understand. [A lot more in general now, really. Jaune and Pyrrha as a whole make more sense to him now.] In such a case, this place is an opportunity.
Naturally, information about your life is your own to give out or keep to yourself.
[He won't say a word--he never does. He'll keep peoples' backstories a secret, you don't have to worry about that.]
As for myself, I believe I simply see you even more clearly, now.
[Pyrrha as Pyrrha, battle winner, celebrity and tall, gawky and shy. There's certainly no awe to be found here, simply a quiet, muted thoughtfulness as they continue their dance.]
Still smiling, her eyes linger on his retreating back for a moment longer before turning back. She’ll leave him alone for the time being, Pyrrha’s decided, as it’s clearly his preferred state of being. Although intending to find Jaune, seeing Naoki and his giant, coiled snake date is a welcome distraction and she goes over to say hi.

Here, people just see me.
[ Tall, gawky, shy Pyrrha in the corner. Being back to that isn’t so bad. Jaune would still be there regardless.
She adds, a beseeching note in her voice, desiring his discretion, ]
I haven’t really told anyone else this.

It is not an escape. [he doesn't retreat, okay.] But nonetheless, I will leave you to enjoy the party.
[And so, with that, he turns on his heel neatly to go.
bye pyrrha, thanks for the dance.]
