botan is the shikigami. the entire situation was engineered by the fuuma twins, one of whom was working within the prison alongside the warden to allow them all to escape. [still pissed about that one, tbh] the plan appears to have been to allow the prisoners to cause chaos across japan while the orochi was resurrected.

stupid plan. [tell us how you really feel, sousei.]

the kumou family swords should be able to separate the vessel from the orochi, due to the spells absorbed by them. is that everything?

Shirasu has a brother too - not just his clan, but actual living, breathing family. And this family of his was in the Condemned Prison Gate? Even just thinking of when Soramaru went there is enough to inspire annoyance and concern in Tenka's heart.

Shirasu really did have another family.

Shirasu completely and totally had another life that he never trusted Tenka with.

[There's a lot he can say to that. What if it's unsafe? What if Tenka actually does something stupid? But... Ultimately, being partners doesn't just mean sharing burdens. It means, too, that he had to understand when Tenka has to do something on his own--and trust that he'll be okay.
