Shirasu didn't manage to land a hit on him physically, but emotionally? Tenka isn't sure if he's heard anything more devastating and shocking than being told that the man he'd considered his best friend for 10 years had not only betrayed their family by putting his brothers in danger, but had also been the catalyst of so much tragedy. The reason why Tenka can't walk, the reason why Chuutarou never knew their parents, the reason why Sousei left, the reason why Soramaru had to grow up so fast - all of it because of Shirasu.

Tenka had to take a walk even after he and the other man had finished talking, but it didn't take him long to realize that more than anything else in this world, he just wanted to go home.

So he found himself in their dark, small apartment that looks like the shrine. Then he found himself wandering into Sousei's bedroom before his own - it's not like he would've been able to sleep anyway.

Then in a movement that's become all too natural, he's seating himself on top of a futon that isn't his, but at least he has the decency to use his hand this time to wake up Sousei. He reaches and nudges his partner's shoulder, speaking softly in the dark.]

Hey. I'm home.

[and man, doe she feel fragile]

[this would probably be a more interesting text if Sousei wasn't on the couch 3 inches away from Tenka

and Tenka's legs weren't tossed across Sousei's lap (probably after they fought over it and tenka eventually got his way even though he suffered through a punch)

[ so someone's cooking some dinner for himself when the feed pops on, the hovering cerevice at america's side as he -- apron clad and everything!! he's chopping up some celery, a big simmering pot on the stove next to him, when the cerevice lets him know he can message and, good. ]

[ When someone's out and about making a ruckus, that's when Sousei should know. Yep. Yata's at it again. Wherever Sousei is that Yata wouldn't or shouldn't, the young man yells as loud as he can, repeating a name over and over and hoping a miracle happens. ]

[ Desperate, he grabs the arm of a passerby. ]

[ in the morning after their little talk, sousei might find two little boxes parked outside his door after the sound of Totally Awkward Knocking™. milla's nowhere to be found, of course, because she's made sure to run off as soon as she made contact with the door but--

--it's two lovingly crafted bento boxes, one for tenka, another for sousei, with a note scribbed on top:

"I made too much."

no name, but don't get the wrong idea is totally implied.

[It takes some time before he approaches Sousei, waiting for when Tenka might not be around at that very moment. He was off doing something at least and that was good enough for him. Still, he worries that Sousei might want to speak with Tenka about this to begin with but he pushes it back. He didn't want to keep hiding it from either of them.]

Sensei, are you busy?

[He wonders if maybe he should just bug him to go spar with him first and warm himself up for it but really it's too important to delay talking about.]
