There's a moment where Tenka hesitates but then.... if he gets Sousei more tea, maybe he'll stop shivering. So he sighs even as he gets up and puts his own blanket around Sousei's shoulders.]

You don't get to keep that.

[But it's easier to walk around without worrying about it falling off his own shoulders. So Tenka's moving faster now to collect their cups and hurry to pour a fresh cup of hot tea for them both.]

[...And that just leaves Sousei blinking. He wasn't expecting Tenka to give up his blanket by any means, though cold fingers grasp onto it regardless, huddling into the additional warmth, because right now, it's very welcome. Even now, he hasn't quite defrosted from his trip home from outside--it was frigid, and it wasn't much warmer indoors, which has made it very difficult for him to get warmed up in any capacity.

Still, he's not going to say anything in return, simply nodding vaguely.

Fine. Understood. He'll enjoy the warmth while he's got it, then, instead of wasting the effort speaking.]

[Normally Tenka isn't the one to pour the tea or do any of the caretaking these days, but years of being the one to watch over his baby brothers when Soramaru was still too young to take care of chores are still pretty ingrained in him. He has no talent for cooking or even laundry but watching over people? He's a pro.

He's just never been in the habit of taking care of his partner but right now, when there's only the two of them, shouldn't he be taking care of Sousei most of all?

Hence why he's returning to the living room and giving Sousei his cup of tea but not yet sitting down or taking his blanket back.]

Hey, think warm thoughts or something, yeah? Soramaru's cooking! A trip to the hot springs!

[Sousei accepts the tea, wrapping his hands around it gratefully, but simply arches an eyebrow at Tenka. Why...isn't he sitting down? In a way, he misses his body warmth, as nice as the extra blanket is.]

What are you doing?

[Tenka can freeze too, as much of a moron as he can be sometimes. Fools can still catch a cold, he knows this to be fact.]

Making sure you don't freeze, dummy. Now hold onto that and drink it.

[Because as soon as Sousei takes the cup, Tenka's wandering off again. Just in the direction of his room. And when he does return, he comes back with one more sweater on top of his pile - he's probably wearing three layers at this point - and another sweater of thicker material.

See, Sousei? This is why he bought so many sweaters. Clearly he was being very smart about his fashion choices. So forward-thinking.

Either way, he's bringing that back over and offering the thicker sweater to Sousei.]

Here. Whenever you're done with the tea.

[He's.........being mothered, here, isn't he. Tenka's taking care of him. That's...such a bizarre thing that for a moment, Sousei is silent, blinking in some bemusement as he sips his tea and then sets it down to take that sweater.

... ... ...]

[His tone is a little tentative, as if he's not entirely sure how to react to this entire situation (which, to be perfectly frank, he's not). After the sweater is on (slipped on rather easily, oversized as it is), he picks up the tea again, and then frowns at Tenka.]

...Well, you should sit as well.

Are you that eager to cuddle with me again already?

[He's not Tenka if he doesn't give Sousei a hard time about this. But honestly he's waving a hand before he goes back to the kitchen to retrieve his own tea because he made enough for two, which is become customary for him.

At least when he does return, he basically plasters himself against Sousei's side, even as he reaches over to retrieve his own blanket.

Don't be ridiculous. [Cuddling??? There is no cuddling here.

Though he's not protesting Tenka being plastered against his side either because Tenka is like a furnace, and he's finally starting to gain feeling in his fingers again.

He sips his tea and sighs faintly, more relieved than anything.]

Though at least Tenka is kind of a master at draping himself on people without thinking about their opinion - even though it's been a really, really long time since he's done this with Sousei - and so he's gonna sip at his tea first before he rests his head on his partner's shoulder.]

[It has been a really long time since Tenka has draped himself all over Sousei like this, to be fair--but he's certainly not pulling away. It's too cold to do anything that ridiculous.

Instead, Sousei shifts slightly, resting his cheek against the top of Tenka's head (because it's more comfortable that way, rather than any other reason), and finally relaxes.]

Though he... honestly didn't expect Sousei to relax that easily. It gets Tenka to blink a moment before he turns to burrow his head more into Sousei's shoulder, because he can, huffing faintly. At least that's a puff of warm air? Though that faint is slowly followed by a more shallow, quiet sigh as Tenka relaxes a bit too.

The physical distance between them might be something self-inflicted at this point.

Tenka can't remember the last time he draped himself on Sousei like this - but at this point, that's Tenka's fault, isn't it?

[Guh... air on his neck, it feels weird. He shifts a little at that before relaxing again, settling finally. It's strange, yes, but not necessarily as foreign as it may seem at first glance.

It seems like only yesterday that Tenka was hanging off him all the time--even if it was actually ten years ago.

[Man, if you're going to complain about a huff leading to air on your neck, then you're not going to like what happens next, Sousei. Because now Tenka's laughing at that even as he reaches over again, this time to drape his arm around Sousei's shoulders entirely.]

[Now this, this is familiar. It's not all that different from the position they were in when they took the picture together with the Yamainu once- but for now, Tenka's just solidly amused.]

Don't worry, partner, I've got your back.

[He'll be the warm one between the two of them - even if he's been tentative about it up until now.]

[Jeeze, Tenka, don't hold back on his behalf or anything...........

Sousei stiffens for a brief moment--and then decides that that's much too much effort, relaxing again practically immediately. Besides, Tenka is warm.

In return, he simply crosses his arms under the blanket, keeping more of his warmth insulated.]

... Yes, I know you do.

[That much he'll really never doubt, not again.]

[Which is enough to get Tenka to relax too. So he's nodding - sort of, head still resting on Sousei's shoulder as it is - and humming.]

Good.

[Because there's not much that he has here in this different new world. He's not really recognizable as the 14th Head of the Cloudy Shrine or even as part of the Cloudy Brothers, but.... well, he can still be a partner her and he wants to do that as much as possible.

As usual, it's his want to be needed. Except warm and comfortable as he is, he's quiet for once. So they'll stay there for however long because it's warm and anything else is difficult.

WHICH LEADS TO A HANDY DANDY TIMESKIP.

It's dark now and Tenka is cold.

He is cold because he's no longer settled on the couch with Sousei, but rather alone and f-f-f-f-freezing in his own bed.

Problem.

Now gonna knock on the wood frame of Sousei's door before sliding the screen and whispering.]

Pssst. Psssssst. Sousei, are you awake?

No.

[The answer comes sleepily, a little tersely, because honestly, he was asleep. He's a light sleeper, though, so now he's certainly not asleep. And now that he's not asleep, he's aware again just how cold it is.............

...... ...... ..... honestly, Tenka???]

Sousei, it's so cold.

[And with that

he's wandering in, with his own blanket wrapped around his shoulders,

and crawling into Sousei's futon

obviously that single sentence was explanation enough]
